Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, August 23, 1978 in the City Hall, Mayor Prachar called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present: Burque, L' Allier , Laska, and Murray, Fran Burque made a motion to accept minutes of August 9 meeting, Elmer Murray seconded i t , motion carried. Fire Department made presentation on quotes from four companies on the purchase of 12 coats for the Fire Department. Mid -Central Fire and Safety Company bid of $112. , Akins Fire Equipment Company bid of 33126,50, Minnesota Fire bid of $122.67 and Weber & Troseth bid of 33122, were submitted, Leon L' Allier made a motion to accept the bid of Mid -Central Fire and Safety Company for $112. per coat, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. Clerk distributed information on the Flood Study submitted by HUD and council will discuss same at future meeting with P & Z. Clerk read information letter from the State of Minnesota on basic training seminars for building inspectors. Several residents and contractors were in attendance with complaints about the City Building Official, Floyd Laska made a motion to invite the Building Official to a special meeting on Thursday, August 24 in the City Hall to iron out the problems, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. The preliminary plat presentation of Peltier Lake Hills Addition, Phase One was presented to council. Mayor Prachar advised council of the P & Z recommendation on the plat with the following stipulations: 1. Change Lot 52 to 1001 frontage; 2. Change the name of Dakota Road to Centerville Road; 3. Look into Tract "E" as a park area or collect $100. per lot for the Park Fund Designation. These matters were discussed plus some residents of Peltier Lake Drive who request that the Peltier Lake Drive street remain a dead end street. Floyd Laska made a motion to go along with the P & Z recommendations and accept the plat as presented being Peltier Lake Hills Addition, Phase One, Leon L' Allier seconded it, Elmer Murray, nay; motion carried, Mr. James Lorenz, Lorenz Bus Service made presentation on the implementation of a commuter express bus route from Blaine, Lino Lakes *and Centerville to downtown St. Paul, under a demonstration grant program. The service would begin September 5, 1978, fare being from Centerville to downtown St. Paul, 750, and service would be leaving Centerville in the morning approx- imately 7:20 AM and returning at approximately 5:15 PM in the evening. Elmer Murray made a motion to pass resolution in favor of this program, Floyd Laska seconded it, motion carried. Resolution is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
