Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council <br />of the City of Centerville held a special meeting on Wednesday, <br />July 12 , .1978 in the City Hall. This meeting is the con- <br />tinuation of public hearing held on June 8, 1978. <br />Mayor Prachar called the hearing to order at 7:10 pm . Present <br />were Burque , L'Allier, Laska and Murray. Mayor Prachar advised <br />the City Council and audience that HUD has not made a deter- <br />mination on the pre -application for small Cities Grant and <br />will not do so until the weekend of July 14 and notification <br />to the cities would be made the first part of the July 16 <br />week. Fran Burque made a motion to continue the hearing <br />on Friday, July 21, 1978 at 7:00 pm in City Hall, seconded <br />by Elmer Murray, motion carried. Hearing adjourned at 7:25 pm. <br />Mayor Prachar called the regular meeting to order at 8:00 pm. <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Residents complained of weeds growing <br />in the county right-of-way and requested they be cut down, <br />Leon L'Allier complained of the job that was done on his <br />driveway due to sewer construction, 30 mile an hour speed <br />limit sign has hot been replaced on Mill Road -Clerk will <br />check on this. Mr. Larry Koch of Peltier Lake Drive advised <br />council on the situation concerning water damage to his <br />property, inside and outside, and he advised council that <br />he is filing a claim with the city insurance company for <br />damages, <br />Mayor Prachar advised council our city population figure <br />is 670 as of April 1, 1978. <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to issue a Contractor's License <br />for sewer installation to Development Plumbing & Heating, <br />seconded by Leon L' Allier, motion carbied. <br />Mayor advised council clerk has purchased a 6 -month savings <br />certificate at Midwest Federal in the amount of $50,000. at <br />7,69%. This amount was taken from the savings account of <br />sanitary sewer funds at the First State Bank of Hugo. <br />Discussion was held on the rebuilding of the skating rint. <br />Matter was tabled until the council could meet with the Park <br />Committee on Monday August 7th. Clerk was requested to ask <br />a member of the Centennial Hockey Association to attend this <br />meeting. <br />Nuum Fritchie gave presentation on Sharing with Lino Lakes, <br />General Fund disbursements were approved for payment per <br />schedule attached. <br />Fire Department will be disposing of the city's diseased <br />dutch elm tress at a cost of $450. <br />Leon L'Allier made a motion to adjourn meeting, seconded <br />by Fran Burque , motion carried* Meeting adjourned at 10:20 pm, <br />Re spe'^C)tfully submitted, <br />u trachar <br />
