The Centerville City Council held their regular meeting on <br />Wednesday, May 10, 1978 in the City Hall, Mayor Prachar <br />called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Pre sent were <br />Burque , L' Allier ,, Murray, Peterson, Attorney Hawkins, <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to approve minutes of meeting <br />held April 26, 1978, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. <br />Mayor Prachar informed the council Lew Hendricks was resigning <br />his position as Tree Inspector for the City. Clerk had con- <br />tacted Larry Brokke , L & B Tree Service to see if he is inter- <br />ested in the position. Mr. Brokke will get back to the clerk <br />with answer by next meeting. Clerk was to contact the Tree <br />Inspector in both Hugo and Lino Lakes to see if they are <br />interested in the job. <br />Mayor Prachar presented the 1978 Police Contract for the City <br />of Centerville. The figure for 1978 is $15,948.80 compared to <br />$12,46o.00 for 1977. Elmer Murray made a motion to approve <br />contract for 1978, John Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br />Mayor Prachar informed council he had attended a Police Advisory <br />Board meeting on Tuesday, May 9 and same board meets the second <br />Tuesday of each month in the Lino Lakes Hall. He requested <br />the council to present names of residents in the City who they <br />think could represent Centerville on the Board. Ray Murray, <br />resident of Centerville, volunteered for the position but matter <br />was tabled until next meeting. <br />Mayor Prachar informed council of letter received from North <br />Central Public Service advising of an increase in the natural <br />gas rates effective May 28, 1978 which would amount to an <br />increase of approximately $8.20 annually for the average space - <br />heating customer or 2.1%. <br />Mayor Prachar reminded council of the Board of Review to be <br />held Wednesday, May 17, 1978 in the City Hall at 7:00 pm. <br />Discussion was held on the quote for the backstop which was <br />$457. for material, $250 . for labor for 20' Backstop, 3 2-10' <br />wings, 10' high. Discussion was held on clerk getting quote <br />on 12' high center and 15' high center. John Peterson made <br />a motion for clerk to get quote on 15' and 12' center and 10' <br />wings, Leon L' Allier seconded it, Murray and Prachar nay, motion <br />carried. <br />Public Hearing on the vacation of Old Mound Trail was opened <br />at 8:00 pm, Mr. Jerry Bowman and Frank Graham from Northern <br />States Power and Mr. Hu dal l a from Northwestern Bell Telephone <br />Company were attendees and advised council and residents of <br />Mound Trail of the costs involved in relocating their lines <br />to accommodate them with utilities. After much discussion <br />and assurance from the company representatives that their <br />trucks and equipment would not drive over the residents property, <br />it was decided to leave the lines in their present location. <br />
