City Council meeting <br />Wednesday, April 26, 197$ <br />page two <br />Discussion was held on the preparation of the HUD grant <br />application. Consensus was to go ahead with the application. <br />Mayor Prachar informed council of the Anoka County Community <br />Action Program which is also applying for a HUD grant and <br />requesting Centerville to be made apart of the grant along <br />the lines of low income housing grants being made available <br />to residents of Centerville who are over 65 years of age. <br />Discussion was held on city drawing up an ordinance licensing <br />contractors who do work in the City, <br />Clerk advised council of Municipal Clerks Institute Year 1 <br />course being offered at the U of M on June 26-30 of this year. <br />Course would cost $160. and $100 scholarships are available <br />which clerk has applied for such a scholarship. Elmer Murray <br />made a motion to allow clerk -treasurer to attend course <br />whether she receives a scholarship or not, Fran Burque seconded <br />it, motion carried. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to appoint Ruth Knabe, deputy <br />clerk for the remainder of 1978, salary being $3.00 an hour, <br />Elmer Murray seconded it, motion carried. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to extend the agreement made with <br />Ruth Knabe concerning death of trees in her yard due to damage by <br />sewer construction until May 21, 1978, John Peterson seconded <br />it, motion carried. <br />Discussion was held on the matter of the skating rink. Harvey <br />was instructed to start taking down the posts on the rink and <br />Leon was advised to discuss the matter with the Park Board at <br />their next meeting. <br />Leon L' Allier advised council of Cub -Boy Scout clean up in <br />Centerville on Saturday, April 29, 1978. <br />Leon L' Allier instructed clerk to notify Police Department <br />about kids riding dirt bikes on the city streets, and the <br />number of people who do not stop at the 20th Avenue -Main Street <br />stop sign and request the Police Department to keep watch on <br />the intersection better than they are doing now. <br />Fran Burque made a motion to <br />seconded i t , motion carried, <br />adjourn meeting, Leon L' Allier <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:00 pm. <br />Re ctfu1 submitt �d, <br />u Pr, char, Clerk <br />
