The City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular <br />- - meeting on Wednesday, April 12, 1978 in the City Hall. Mayor <br />Prachar called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present: L' Allier, <br />Murray and Peterson. Absent: Burqu e . <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to approve minutes of meeting held <br />March 22, Leon L' Allier seconded it, motion carried... <br />Elmer Murray reported on the meeting between Mayor Prachar, <br />Mr. Tester, Superintendent McClellan and himself concerning the <br />ballfield in back of the Centerville Elementary School. The city <br />would contribute and put up a new backstop and the clerk had two <br />bids on same. Crowley Fence - Material $500; labor $300. Metro- <br />politan Fence - Material 457; labor $250. L" llier suggested <br />calling the Lions Club because there is a member that works for <br />a fencing firm and he could perhaps give us a bid on the backstop. <br />Jerry Determan reported from the Park Committee, Park Committee <br />suggested (1) gate should be installed on the tennis courts to <br />keep the bikes out of court area; (2) sign should be put up on <br />the tennis courts to the effect " limit play to 45 minutes when <br />people waiting, no bikes allowed. These are your tennis courts <br />don't abuse them"; (3) courts should be locked at night. <br />City Council considered request by William LaLonde of Centerville <br />for lot split on the following parcels which P&Z recommended <br />granting: <br />PLAT 28019 -PARCEL 2060 - Lots 4 and 5, Block 9, Village of <br />Centerville <br />PLAT 28019 -PARCEL 2080 - Lot 6, Block 9, Village of Centerville. <br />Split is requested as follows: TRACT A - Lot 6, and the North <br />2 of Lot 5, Block 9, Centerville, Anoka County, Minnesota 75'x <br />150' ; and TRACT B - Lot 4, and the South 2 o f Lot 5 , Block 9, <br />Centerville, Anoka County, Minnesota.. Elmer Murray made a motion <br />to approve lot split on the above described property, John <br />Peterson seconded it, motion carried. <br />Clerk read letter from the Minnesota Environmental Quality <br />Board concerning Peltier Hills Addition. Clerk was to give <br />form to Mr. Granger to fill out before submitting it from the <br />city . <br />Variance request on the Burque property was tabled until next <br />meeting. <br />John Peterson made a motion to authorize an audit of the City <br />books for 1977, Elmer Murray seconded it, motion carried. <br />Letter from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers concerning the <br />floodway on Clearwater Creek was discussed. Mayor was instructed <br />to write Mr. Bailey of the Flood Insurance Administration con- <br />cerning this matter, <br />Clerk informed council a contractor's license for sewer install- <br />ations had been granted to James Stevens Construction Company <br />on March 24, 19780 <br />
