<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />October 23, 1991 at the City Hall. Mayor Buckbee called the <br />meeting to order at 7:00 p.m~ Present: Pelton, Dario. Absent: <br />Wilharber, Burgstahler_ <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to approve the October 9, 1991 <br />meeting minutes with tIle following correction: <br />page three, paragraph three <br />now reads: fI.__ adhesives that can be used to apply to <br />material such as the bar codes in 120 degree below <br />zero., <br />amend to read: adhesives that can be used to <br />apply to material such as the bar codes in 120 <br />degree below zero.", <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Consolidation ~on1lQission <br />Mayor Buckbee noted that the City received sixteen good <br />applications for positions on the Consolidation Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to recommend the following <br />persons to the Minnesota Municipal Board for consideration to <br />serve on a Consolidation Commission: Theresa Brenner~ John <br />Buckbee III, Sanna Buckbee, Arnold Drewlo, Marita Haberman, <br />Sandra Heineman, Steven Marcello, Carol Pelton, Steven Scribner, <br />and Katrina Vermeulen, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to recommend Jeffery Nelson and <br />David VanBurkleo to the Minnesota Municipal Board as <br />candidates for the Chairperson of the Consolidation <br />Commission; <br />- should a third qualified candidate come forward prior to <br />the submittal deadline to the Municipal Board, Mayor <br />Buckbee is given authorization to make a decision as to <br />whether that person(s) should be recommended to the <br />Minnesota Municipal Board as a candidate for <br />Chairperson of the Consolidation Commission, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />Municipal Facility Site <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to authorize City staff to <br />arrange to have soil borings completed on the proposed <br />building site (Almendinger site) for a building and <br />tower at a cost not to exceed $5,000; <br />- City staff shall obtain permission from the property owner <br />to conduct the soil borings; <br />City staff is authorized to direct the writing of a <br />purchase agreement, stating that the sale shall be <br />contingent upon acceptable results of the soil borings, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />
