<br />page three <br /> <br />ditch west of Centerville Road, the City would <br />have a better foothold in maintaining the ditch. <br />- Even if prices increase ten percent next year, this <br />would not be unreasonable. <br />- By the time the City obtains an easement and <br />completes the ditch maintenance, it may not be <br />able to provide adequate erosion control. This <br />would not be in the best interest of Centerville <br />Lake. Fall is a good time to the project, but it <br />may be to late now for erosion control. <br />- There does not appear to be an immediate threat to <br />property due to the ditch areas. <br /> <br />Mayor Buckbee - There does not appear to be a large drop <br />from Lot 12, Block 1 to Centerville Road. If the <br />City were to do this project in the future, it <br />could look at increasing the decline behind Center <br />Oaks I to improve the situation. <br />- Only cleaning out the ditch west of Centerville Road <br />could improve the drainage behind Center Oaks I. <br />However, it may be best to do both. <br />- There is the question of whether there is enough time <br />to have this done in 1991. The City would be <br />gambling with the weather. <br />- It may be better to just get the maintenance <br />completed this year. <br />- It may be advisable to meet with the homeowners and <br />residents to discuss the ditch maintenance <br />project. <br />- Council member Pelton may be correct with her <br />statements regarding erosion control. <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to authorize City staff to <br />begin permanent easement negotiation with the property owners of <br />the ditch west of Centerville Road, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to authorize City staff to <br />draft a letter to the Center Oaks I property owners <br />requesting their input for City Council review; <br />City staff is authorized to set up a meeting with the <br />Center Oaks I residents after the first of the year to <br />discuss the 1992 ditch maintenance with them, <br />motion carried unanimously_ <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Daria to authorize City staff to send <br />a letter to Russell Almendinger requesting that he <br />continue to construct the Henderson ditch as offered; <br />- if Mr. Almendinger chooses not to proceed with the ditch, <br />he should be requested to contact the City as soon as <br />possible so that the City can take action to construct <br />a ditch within the drainage easements, <br />
