<br />(B) No person shall beat, torment, tease or otherwise abuse an animal or permit an animal fight. <br />Any person not treating his or her pet in a humane manner will be subject to the penalties provided in <br />this chapter. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) Penalty, see ~ 90.99 <br /> <br />~ 90.11 DOMESTIC ANIMAL SHELTERS. <br /> <br />A person in charge or control of any domestic animal which is kept outdoors or in an unheated <br />enclosure shall provide the domestic animal with shelter and bedding as prescribed in this section as a <br />minimum: <br /> <br />(A) The shelter shall include a moisture-proof and wind-proof structure of suitable size to <br />accommodate the domestic animal and allow retention of the body heat; <br /> <br />(B) Shade from the direct rays of the sun during the months of June to September shall be <br />provided; <br /> <br />(C) A domestic animal kept on a farm may be provided with access to a barn with sufficient <br />quantity of loose hay or bedding to protect against cold and dampness; and <br /> <br />(D) All shelters required by this section shall be subject to all building or zoning regulations of the <br />city, township, county or state. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) Penalty, see ~ 90.99 <br /> <br />~ 90.12 GUARD DOG WARNING SIGNS. <br /> <br />(A) A person maintaining a dog for security purposes within the city shall post a sign at all <br />entrances to the property. <br /> <br />(B) The sign shall be a minimum of six inches by 12 inches, with letters of contrasting color, a <br />minimum of two inches in height, and a brush stroke of two inches minimum, with the following words <br />affixed to the sign: DANGER - GUARD DOG. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) Penalty, see ~ 90.99 <br /> <br />~ 90.13 ABANDONED ANIMALS. <br /> <br />Upon written notice of the Chief of Police that private property is attracting or providing shelter to <br />animals that are not owned or cared for by any known person, the owner of the property shall be <br />responsible for removing the animals in a humane manner within 30 days of the written notice. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) Penalty, see ~ 90.99 <br /> <br />~ 90.14 DANGER TO HEALTH AND SAFETY OF CITY. <br /> <br />I no 17 /1 '7 <br /> <br />D11" <br />
