<br />(A) The Council is hereby authorized to appoint an animal control officer(s) to enforce the <br />provisions of this chapter. In the officer's duty of enforcing the provisions of this chapter, he or she <br />may from time to time, with the consent of the Council, designate assistants. <br /> <br />(B) The provisions of this chapter may be enforced by any of the following: <br /> <br />(1) The primary law enforcement agency of the community; <br /> <br />(2) The law enforcement agency contracted with by the city; <br /> <br />(3) The animal control officer as designated by the city; or <br /> <br />(4) The animal control facility contracted with by the city. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) <br /> <br />~ 90.18 INTERFERING WITH OFFICERS. <br /> <br />(A) No person shall in any manner molest, hinder or interfere with any person authorized by the <br />Council to capture dogs, cats or other animals and convey them to the pound while engaged in that <br />operation. <br /> <br />(B) Nor shall any unauthorized person break open the pound, or attempt to do so, or take or <br />attempt to take from any agent any animal taken up by him or her in compliance with this chapter, or in <br />any other manner to interfere with or hinder the officer in the discharge of his or her duties under this <br />chapter. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) Penalty, see ~ 90.99 <br /> <br />~ 90.19 EXISTING PERMITS. <br /> <br />Animal owners that have lifetime permits for their animal are grandfathered in as part of this <br />chapter, as long as the owner shows proof every two years that the animal has shots within that period <br />and provided the address of the owner remains the same. If the owner does not provide the vaccination <br />record every two years, he or she will no longer be considered grandfathered in as part of this chapter <br />and will be required to obtain an animal license every two years with the fee set by Council. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) <br /> <br />DANGEROUS OR POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ANIMALS <br /> <br />~ 90.30 DESIGNATION. <br />
