<br />City CoIlIlCiI Meeting Minutes <br />May 23, 2001 <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated that Council bad given the incorrect time for the Business <br />Appreciation dinner held on May 15, 2001. Council Member Capra stated of6:oo p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Capra to <br />approve the May 9. 2001 Council Minutes as amended. AU in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Downtown Revitalization TimeIine <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that the item was placed on the agenda to establish a timeline for the <br />project. Mr. March desired that Council arrange a meeting with property owners to <br />inform them of the City's proposed changes and to forwards letters to them regarding <br />same. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated he had sketched a timeline and if the City desired to commence <br />construction this year, Council would need to schedule meetings to review the scope of <br />the project, costs, and determine whether to bond for the project. Mr. Peterson stated that <br />Council would need to approve plans at their June 13 meeting in order to commence the <br />bid and construction process by August. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that it may be possible to bond for both the 21st Avenue project and this <br />project. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg directed Staff to forward a letter to residents concerning the downtown <br />revitalization project. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. second by Council Member Capra <br />to schedule a work session on June 12. 2001. at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the downtown <br />revitalization proiect. AU in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Improvements <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated that the bid opening was May 22,2001 for this project and Vinco, <br />Inc. was the lowest bidder at $136,480.29. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. second by Council Member Capra <br />to award the LaMotte Memorial Park electrical contract to Vinco. Inc. in the <br />amount 0($136.480.29 to Vinco. InCo AU in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 12 <br />
