<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 23, 2001 <br /> <br />Council Member Capra reported that the Cable Commission moved its meeting in June to <br />the same night as the Council meeting so the City would not be represented at same. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned whether Council would be requested to <br />approve the candidate to fill the vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission at this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. March indicated that Mr. Wilharber was at the last meeting and expressed interest but <br />had not submitted a letter. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that. in discussions after the last Planning <br />and Zoning meeting, it was determined that the Planning and Zoning Committee wanted <br />to make the recommendation without a written submission from Mr. Wilharber. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she would rather wait until Council received a <br />recommendation from the Committee. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Travis. seconded by Council Member Broussard <br />Vickers to approve tbe appointment of Mr. Tom Wilbarber to tbe Plannin!! and <br />Zonin!! Committee pendine approval of the Plannine and Zonin!! Committee. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson requested clarification on Page 2 of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission minutes concerning a standard landscaping plan within the City. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that a statement regarding same had been made by a town home <br />resident unhappy with the landscaping in their development. The resident requested a <br />standard landscaping plan for the City. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson stated that the last EDC meeting had lacked a quorum and she <br />feh that in the future, it would be appropriate for members that are unable to attend, <br />contact City Hall. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that the Parks and Recreation Committee had <br />received requests to have the satellites relocated in some of the parks. The Public Works <br />Department bas completed same. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg explained that residents were concerned for inappropriate activity <br />occurring in/around the satellites. Mayor Swedberg stated that residents were advised to <br />contact Centennial Lakes Police Department when they witness suspicious activity. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned whether the Lions would have ample funds to <br />construct a concession building at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park this summer. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that he did not anticipate that the concession building would be <br />constructed this year as the City is waiting to find out if it receives grant funding and the <br />Lions do not have funds for materials at this time. <br /> <br />Page 10 of 12 <br />
