July 13, 2001 Emergency Council Meeting Minutes Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Capra to contact three (3) executive search firms to address the Council at their next meetin!!. to present Council with a Quote for services. to inform Council of their procedures would be and to discuss whether or not if the City secures a candidate or whether they secure the candidate how same would effect the financial arran!!ement with a 10 minute presentation and 5 minute Question and answer period. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslY. Motion by Council Member Capra. seconded by Council Member Travis that from this point on to have Mr. Patzer and Ms. Bender take over the operation and supervision of the City Staff. day-to-day operations until the next Council meetin2. in their respective areas and consult with each other when necessary. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslY. Discussion ensued in regards to the need to motion for Council Member Nelson to discuss the previously stated issues with Mr. March. Consensus was that she was previously directed to do same; however, the entire Council desired to be informed of same via e-mail. Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Capra that Council have a Special Council Meetin2 on Wednesday. JulY 18. 2001 at 4:00 p.m. for the purpose of discussin!! with Staff: Staff concerns. update on interim information and City Administrator issues. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member Nelson that Staff be notified in fe2ards to contactine Council and each Council Member in turn will notify all other Council Members via Ms. Bender of their conversation and the individual that they were speakine with fe2ardin!! questions. concerns. issues. etc. Council Member Capra questioned whether working with Staff to order items for the upcoming Life Time Achievement Awards would constitute a need for same. Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that if a Staff member approached a Council Member. Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that her motion was intended for items such as discussing issues or concerns that a Staff member may have that they want Council to be aware of for whatever reason. Council Member Nelson stated that she particularly liked the motion. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Swedberg stated that he desired to recognize the Hugonian for bringing to Council's attention the need to make a motion in regards to check signatory. Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Capra to add Actin!! Mayor Travis as a si!!natory on City checks until such time a City Administrator has been hired. All in favor.
