<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 23, 2003 <br /> <br />said that the Lions have no problem fixing the warming house but it does not function as <br />a concession stand. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would like the Park and Recreation <br />Committee to discuss what it would like to see for the picnic shelter and ask the Lions <br />how much they would like to participate in the project. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated he would be in favor of having a concession structure but <br />the warming house also needs to be repaired. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would support the picnic shelter and <br />noted the City has approximately $25,000 and that should go along way toward fixing the <br />warming house and the new picnic structure. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney explained that the Lions are looking at a building that would eventually <br />have sewer and water so the plans include having everything stubbed in for the time <br />when it is feasible to bring sewer and water to the structure. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that the prohibiting cost was the sewer and that is why <br />previous Council was opposed to having a building up there other than an open sided <br />pavilion. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that setting the building up for sewer can be done and the <br />connection made at a different time. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would like the Lions to come to Park <br />and Recreation with a plan for approval and recommendation to Council. She then said <br />she would like to ask Park and Recreation to act on the warming house renovations and <br />provide a plan for Council consideration. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated the Lions were not looking at the money that the City currently <br />has but money coming this year. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Caora to direct Staff to contract to determine the condition of the foundation of tbe <br />warmin2 bouse and whether there is ootential for remodelio2 not to exceed $2.500 <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that Ted Peterson and she had discussed pavilions that <br />could be purchased and placed on the property rather than one that would have to be <br />constructed. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that due to the soil conditions in the area the Lions did not <br />want to do a slab on grade they wanted to do a foundation with a slab over the top. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 11 <br />
