Fire Chief Milo Bennett - Fire District Budget 2004

Fire Chief Bennett appeared before Council to present the 2004 budget for the Centennial
Fire District noting that they are aware of reduced funding. He then provided an
overview of the budget and indicated they have been careful to reduce in areas where it
was possible.

Fire Chief Bennett indicated that the budget for 2004 is 1.12% below that of 2003. He
then indicated that the cost per citizen has been moving very slightly down since 1990
and for 2004 the cost per citizen in Centerville is $24.10.

Council Member Capra indicated that one of the things that the steering committee
agreed to is that the capital equipment had to remain at $100,000 as that is the only way
to keep up with costs for replacing vehicles.

Fire Chief Bennett indicated that the trucks are on a 20-year replacement cycle but are
very expensive to replace when the time comes.

Council Member Lee commended Chief Bennett on reducing the budget.

Page 2 ofl4
