<br />City of Centerville <br />September 24, 2003 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated he would be interested in serving on the committee and <br />then said if light rail will be a topic of discussion he would be happy to tell them what a <br />fraud and waste of money he feels it is. <br /> <br />2. Mound Trail Reconstruction <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the contractor is preparing to start the reconstruction on <br />Monday, September 29,2003 and property owners in the area were notified by the City. <br /> <br />3. CounciVCommittee/CommissionlCountv Joint Meeting <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that it would be January or February before the joint meeting <br />would be able to be scheduled. She then indicated that Staff provided feedback on the <br />RFP to the County. <br /> <br />4. Ouarterly Business Meetinl: <br /> <br />Nothing to report on this matter. <br /> <br />5. Lifetime Achievement <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had looked into having someone else take over the <br />lifetime achievement award and has not had any luck. She then asked Council to change <br />the procedure for this year's award as there was only one nominee. <br /> <br />Council agreed to do so. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the liquor license renewal forms were received and will <br />be going out. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Mr. Peterson had informed her via email that the City <br />has received a $60,000 grant for the storm water system and it can be used in conjunction <br />with the reconstruction of the Heritage/LaMotte roadway. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member Lee <br />to authorize the expenditure of $3.500 for the work plan for the Metro <br />Environmental Partnership Grant. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Bennett asked that the fire department be allowed to do a quick inspection <br />before the liquor licenses are renewed. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated the EDC meeting had been cancelled for this month. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that the Centerville Lions are scheduled to re-roofthe warming <br />house on October II, 2003 and asked for volunteers. <br /> <br />Page 13 ofl4 <br />
