<br />city of Centerville <br />March 13, 2002 <br />Council Minutes <br />indicated there is an issue with the Amoco and Lino Lakes may have a problem assessing <br />tbat business. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked Staff to present the businesses with the <br />number for the assessment. She then said the City would need to know if the businesses <br />are interested for next year. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that, if 1000A. of the property owners petition the City, the <br />procedure is waived and they can pay for the entire improvement. <br /> <br />VID. Dead Broke Saddle Club - Premiies Permit Awlication (Gamb1inV - Wiseguys <br />Pizza & Pub Resolution #02..007 <br /> <br />Mark Thorson, Gambling Manager, addressed Council and indicated they have raffles at <br />the Trio and are asking for another license for Wiseguys Pizza. <br /> <br />Mr. Thorson explained there has been a misunderstanding with his organization and the <br />City because he was using a different city's ordinance instead of the Centerville <br />ordinance. He then explained tbat 50% of the net profits are to be used for the benefit of <br />the residents of Centerville but those funds are not directed to the City or Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra confirmed that the City gets monies from Dead Broke Saddle <br />Club and the Spring Lake Park Lions. Ms. Moore-Sykes concurred. <br /> <br />Mr. Thorson indicated his organization had been setting aside 10% for projects within the <br />City but in reality owes the City 500A.. He then said he is not trying to skate out of paying <br />the City but bas had very few requests from the City that ftd1 within the guidelines for <br />giving. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra said she was under the impression tbat the organi7ation was to <br />submit a check to the City with the profits. She then asked how much money was <br />available at the 10%. <br /> <br />Mr. Thorson indicated that $4,900.00 is available but in reality there should be $23,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked whether it was permissible for a group to have two permits <br />within the City. City Attorney Hoeft indicated it was fine to allow two permits for the <br />same organization. <br /> <br />Page 14 of21 <br />
