<br />Ms. Wroblewski in attendance who was a member of the Committee indicated that those <br />that worked on the parade had turned in a detailed accounting for the parade to the <br />Chairman of the Committee. She then said she feels it is unfair to judge the whole <br />Committee based on the actions of a few. She further commented that detailed records <br />were kept and she is proud of the fact that the parade was kept to under its budgeted <br />amount. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that she had seen the budget for the parade but said <br />there was no information for the rest of the festival. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers withdrew her motion. Council Member Capra <br />withdrew her second. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member <br />Capra to allow the Lions to plan the City celebration. to donate $10.000 to fund the <br />parade and fireworks. to require that the Lions provide an accurate accountine of <br />the costs associated with the parade and fireworks. and to require that the fIreworks <br />vendor name the City as an additional insured on its policv for the event. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that this should not be a reflection of the good volunteers <br />who worked on the festival but said he is very frustrated with trying to obtain numbers. <br />He then noted he would abstain from voting on the matter. <br /> <br />Vote: Aves - 4. Navs - O. Abstain - 1 (Mayor Swedbere). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Ms. Fairbrother asked what date the Lions had in mind for the festival. <br /> <br />Mr. TheIl indicated the Lions were looking at the first weekend in August. <br /> <br />Council asked to be informed if the Lions do not want to plan the festival. <br /> <br />7. Potentially Dangerous Dog Update <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had heard there was an issue with the Salazars' dog <br />again at 7336 Old Mill Road. She then indicated that the letter received indicates that the <br />Salazars are aware that one more incident will result in seizure of the dog. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated there had been no incidents since that letter. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that the ordinance was clear and there is no <br />action needed :from Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked that Council be kept apprised of any new information on <br />the dangerous dog matter. <br /> <br />Page 13 of24 <br />
