Special Use Permits - Annual Renewal <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that he and Mr. Palzer had discussed the matter and <br />determined that three of the businesses operating under special use permits are still <br />considered non-conforming and those pennits need to be renewed. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked Staff to check whether the towing company that recently moved <br />into the commercial district is an allowed usage. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to approve the special use permits as presented bv Staff. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Council recessed to change the tape at 8:20 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />9. Turcotte Prol'ertv <br /> <br />. Council Member Capra asked if it would be possible to use TIP funds to remove the <br />house. Ms. Moore-Sykes agreed to investigate the matter and report back to Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated she had been contacted by Carol Woodward and she had <br />asked if Council was interested in either renting or selling the Turcotte property to her. <br /> <br />Council indicated that it wanted to sell the whole piece of property for redevelopment. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked if the title had been cleared. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the Examiner of Titles for Anoka County had been <br />given the information needed to clear the certificate of title. He then noted that it would <br />be a few months before any information is received back from the Examiner of Titles. <br /> <br />10. National Volunteer Week <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she had brought up the possibility of having a cook out <br />at City Hall to coincide with National Volunteer Week in April rather than the volunteer <br />holiday party that the City usually holds. She then indicated that she would like to move <br />forward with the planning for that cookout with Council approval. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she had no problem with the cookout but <br />asked where in the budget it had been accounted for. She then commented that if it was <br />not accounted for in the budget something else would have to be removed so that this <br />could be done. <br /> <br />Co1i11cil Member Nelson asked Staff to determine where in the budget the holiday party <br />was billed last year. <br /> <br />Page 14 of24 <br />
