CityofCeuterville Council Meding Minutes April 10, 2002 Mayor Swedberg asked that the Police Department be invited to the picnic to promote the neighborhood watch program. Council Member Broussard Vickers suggested doing a general invitation to all residents to save money on postage. Council Member Capra indicated she would like to personally invite those residents that are to be honored with plaques. Council Member Nelson said she felt the invitation and postage fur actual volunteers is a good expense and she would like them all to be invited. Council Member Capra asked fur approval to open up the invitation to the general public and noted she would plan fur 300 hotdogs. Motion by Council Member ~ebon. seconded by Council Member Capra to approve an amount UP to $700.00 for the expenses involved with the Volunteer Rec02nition Picnic dunnS! National Volunteer Week. AU in favor. Motion carried unanimously. 7. ElllPloyment Policies Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that she bad reviewed all the employment policies that Council Member Nelson put together and has started a Centerville suggestion policy. Council Member Nelson asked when Ms. Moore-Sykes would be completed with the project. Ms. Moore-Sykes explained it would be difficult to give a firm date for completion due to her other duties and the many interruptions she faces during the day but said she would have it completed within the two-month timeftame allotted by Council. VID. NEW BUSINESS I. Centerville Lion's Request for R~ Button SUpj)1ies Council Member Capra indicated she had received an e-mail from the Lions asking that Council consider donating the leftover buttons from the Festival last year. She then suggested the City also donate the wrist bands used to identify age for drinking Motion by CouneiUJeDlber Capra. seeonded by Council Member Travis to approve donation of the leftover buttons and wrist bands to the Lions as requested.
