<br />. l t . <br /> <br />__ t) .. <br /> <br />City of Centerville <br />February 13. 2002 <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Capra said she thought the City bad to be careful with the charitable <br />gambling funds to determine what the money can be used for. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that this type of donation is an unencumbered donation that <br />can be used for any City expenditure but noted, as a practical matter, if the City wants to <br />continue to receive donations from the Lions it may make sense to use the money as <br />suggested. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated she would like to see the $1,913.00 be used toward <br />park programs that are already in the budget to reduce that budget. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis suggested using the funds fur one of the items on the Hst <br />provided by the Lions. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers said she felt Council should give the funds to the <br />Park and :Recreation Conunission and let them decide how to use them. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked whether the Committees needed to come to Council for <br />approval of expenditures within their budgets. City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the <br />Committees have the discretion to expend funds that are budgeted to them. <br /> <br />MotioD by CogDcll Member Broussard Vickers. seeoDded by CogDcll Member <br />Travis to place the $1.913.00 dODatioD received from the LioDS iD the Park aDd <br />RecreatioD Commission bud2et for determinatioD as to how to use the fuDds. <br /> <br />Council Member Travis asked that the Park and Recreation Commission notify Council <br />and the Lions as to what the funds would be used fur. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked that the matter be put on the agenda for the <br />Park and Recreation Conunission meeting. <br /> <br />Ayes - 4. League of Minnesota Cities - Website/T)()maip Name Change <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that govo:ffice.com has proposed that the City change its <br />domain name to be consistent with what the other cities have because emails have been <br />lost because of an incorrect domain name. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that doing so would save over $600 per year. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if the website was up and running.
