He then indicated the shed requirements were based on a <br />percentage of the rear yard but corner lots had no rear yard. He further indicated the <br />numbers in the ordinance cJariiY and address that type of situation. <br /> <br />Mr. PaJzer indicated the Ordinance is hard to enforce when it conflicts upon itself and <br />Staff is not sure which requirement is the more stringent requirement. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she was not interested in going back to <br />P~ing and Zoning on this Ordinance because that would further hold up the changes <br />and there are people waiting for the changes in order to proceed with their projects. She <br />then indicated that either she or Council Member Travis should be able to explain the <br />intent OfPl3Jlning and Zoning with regard to questions Council may have. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked whether adding a provision concerning boats and docks <br />could be added to the Ordinance tonight without starting the process over. City Attorney <br />Hoeft indicated that making a substantive change to the Ordinance would mean starting <br />over. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers suggested holding that change to the next set of <br />amendments to the Ordinance. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated Council could pass any portion of the Ordinance or none of <br />it but said that the issue of storage of boats and docks will not be an issue again until next <br />winter. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked ifthere was a list of changes to the Ordinance. <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes iOOicated a list was not provided to Council with the Ordinance <br />changes. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated ~ in the future, a master sheet would be <br />more helpful. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked if the amended date is the date published or <br />the date voted on. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the City needed to decide which date to use and be <br />consistent, He then recommended using the effective date and noted the changes are <br />effective after the date of publishing. <br /> <br />Council Member Bro~ Vickers asked Staff to verifY the effective dates on the <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson indicated the first change is to allow nonconforming structures <br />for 12 months rather than 6 months. <br /> <br />Page 17 of24 <br />
