<br />o <br /> <br /> <br />--", <br /> <br />The "regular monthly meeting of the Village Council of Centerville was held in the <br />Village Hall on Wednesday, February 13, 1963 <br /> <br />Those Present:: Francis Burque, Mayor <br />'l;'ed Bourquin, Clerk <br />t"!ohn Peterson, Councilman <br />Cecil LaMotte t Councilman <br />Melvin Dupre, Councilman <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 9, 1963 meeting.were approved as read except to chang~ the <br />name of the officia~ Village .Newspaper from the ~oka Herald to the Au?ka County Union. <br /> <br />New Business:: Mrs. Robert LeVasseur brought up the problem of rats in her area. Clerk <br />Bourquin is to contact Lake Sanitation, Mr. Leonard Ayde. Mr. Ayde is <br />to send the clerk a lis~ of names in which he picks up garbage in the <br />Village limits. Clerk is to then send a card asking the homeo\mer who <br />is not on the list if they would care to have this service. The problem <br />is to curb homeowners from throwing their garbage out the back door in- <br />stead of putting it in containers. There is a Village ordinance on <br />this and a fine also. <br /> <br />Mr. William Babhine brought up the question on the width of streets in <br />the Village. He will contact Mr. LaCasse on this for discussion. A <br />motion by Councilman Peterson, and seconded by Dupre to permit Babhine <br />to change the date of building permit from the year 1962 to 1963 if <br />a builder had not built his house in that particular year. This is to <br />prevent from paying twice when buying a building perlflit. <br /> <br />Bob LaMOtte requested the Village to approve the purchase on the following <br />equipment for the fire department.. <br />1.. Small blow tOrch <br />2. Hand loud speaker <br />3. Two large hand lantern lights <br />Lt.. ~dder straps <br />Also to ~ve the siren to ring at 12:.00 noon rather than at 10:00 p.m. <br />at night. Motioned by Bourquin and seconded by Peterson to have Mr. <br />LaMotte purchase his equipment, this was approved by all. <br /> <br />Ray Houle, fireman's dance general chairman, reported on date of <br />Febr~y 23rd, Saturda1, as the only time before Lent that we could <br />have the dance at Twin Lakes. It vas agreed by all that to postpone <br />it until after Lent and requested the dates ot Friday, April 19th as <br />our first choic~ and April 20th. Saturday, for the second. <br /> <br />Clerk Bourquin requested the council to purchase a typewriter for the <br />Village. Motioned by Burque and seconded by Peterson to approve Bourquin' s <br />request. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A discussion on the dog ordinance and licenses by a group of villagers <br />to make an amendment to the~ordinaDce on letting the dogs run loose <br />during the winter. months onlj:. The general feeling on this by the <br />group was to ~bide by the original_ordinance to the very fullest. <br /> <br />Motion made by Bourquin seconded by Dupre to pay the following bills. <br />,1.
