<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />August 13, 2008 <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that they had the City Hall open. She wanted to thank the Centennial <br />Fire District No.3 for their help. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar stated that he never realized what went into this event. He said it is a <br />great festival. Hats off to the Lions for putting all the effort into it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that they are getting ready to plan next year's festival. He <br />invited the Council to attend the Planning Meeting. He added that they need help, and he <br />would like to encomage people to help. <br /> <br />3. Planning & Zonin~ Commission <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard-Vickers announced that Chair Hanson will be retiring in <br />September 2008. She stated that Chair Hanson has been on the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission for a long time, and is leaving due to work commitments. She stated that <br />Chair Hanson would be missed. There will now be an opening in the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra recommended that the City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission <br />have a Joint Session to go over some of the Ordinances. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee recommended that the City not pay for the Park projects until there is <br />a walkthrough. He stated that the painting of equipment was not done, and there are <br />several other things that have to be addressed. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that the whirl is 18" above grade, and looks like it should be lowered a <br />foot. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that, if something was missed, the contractor will come <br />back to fix it. <br /> <br />With regard to Hidden Springs Park, City Engineer Statz stated that the original contract <br />has a one-year warranty when plans are initially installed. He stated that, when they come <br />back, there would not be a one-year warranty. However, this was discussed and worked <br />out, so there will be a warranty. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra inquired whether City Administrator Larson got photos of what was done to <br />restore the shoreline. City Administrator Larson replied that he did, and he showed the <br />photos of the work being done. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz stated that most of the plants are pretty well established and are pretty <br />aggressive plants. <br /> <br />4.
