City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />July 23, 2008 <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br />Change Order for 2009 Street Seal Coat Project <br />City Engineer Statz stated that they had asked the contractor to delay so more roofers can <br />get done and out of the way of the roads. He stated that even one week would help to <br />have a lot less traffic. He added, however, that it should only be delayed for a short <br />period, because round rock has a tougher time adhering in colder weather. <br />Councilmember Lee inquired as to how long the delay would be. <br />City Engineer Statz replied that it should be one week. He stated that it is a good idea to <br />do that, there is no additional cost, and it would not do anything to the warranty. He <br />added that they also asked to have the sweeping done later. He stated that Public Works <br />Director Paul Palzer suggested that leaving the aggregate down would minimize any <br />possible damage from contractor equipment in city neighborhoods. <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar, <br />to approve the Change Order for the 2009 Street Seal Coat Proiect. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />2. NMTC Proposed 2009 Budget <br />Councilmember Lakso stated that she did not have anything to add and inquired whether <br />anyone had any questions. <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />the NMTC Proposed 2009 Budget. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Upgrade Well #2 - E.H. Renner & Sons Proposal <br />City Administrator Larson reported that there is a proposal to upgrade the pump capacity <br />on We112. He stated that this is the primary well with the best water quality and that, at <br />peak demand, it is not able to keep up. The upgrade would enable it to be able to keep up <br />the vast majority of the time. He added that $35,501 is a relatively low cost for this work <br />and electrical has been included. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Councilmember Lee stated that the electrician recommended the appropriate size <br />equipment that was needed. <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, <br />to approve the E.H. Renner & Sons Proposal to Upgrade Well #2. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Page 5 of 9 <br />
