City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />August 13, 2008 <br />Motion made by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />approve the request for reduction of security (Letter of Credit) for Clearwater Creek <br />Estates Development - to $146,890, and request for refund of the $10,000 escrow, <br />contingent on there being no outstanding bills. All in favor. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />2. Res. #08-022 -Proclaiming Constitution Week (September 17-23, 2008 <br />Mayor Capra announced that this signifies the 225th Anniversary of the drafting of the <br />Constitution. <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar, <br />to approve Res. #08-022 -Proclaiming Constitution Week (September 17-23, 2008). <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Res. #08-023 - Proclaiming October, 2008, to be Domestic Violence Awareness <br />Month <br />Mayor Capra reported that this request was sent by Alexandra House, Inc., and this is <br />something that is done every year. <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, <br />to approve Res. #08-023 -Proclaiming October, 2008, to be Domestic Violence <br />Awareness Month. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Parks & Recreation Committee Requesting Funds Not to Exceed $1,500 for <br />Advertising the 2009 Festival of the Lakes 8K Run <br />Councilmember Lee stated that he has a notation from City Finance Director Meyer that <br />the money is in the fund, and there is money left in the budget. He stated that the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee members believe the cost would be more than recouped with the <br />runners' entry fees. Councilmember Lee stated that it is very important to work quickly on <br />this. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to approve <br />funds for the Parks & Recreation Committee, not to exceed $1,500, for advertising <br />the 2009 Festival of the Lakes 8K Run. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />5. Claudia Comstock -Request for a Crosswalk and Si.~ns by the Trail Crossing on <br />Centerville Road <br />Mayor Capra reported that Claudia Comstock, age 7, came into the City Hall today, <br />August 13, 2008. She brought in a picture of the trail crossing on Centerville Road, by <br />former Mayor Wilharber's house. Ms. Comstock drew a picture by the trail, and stated <br />that there should be a crosswalk and signs to make the crossing safer. She stated that her <br />grandmother's car got hit by a bike at that location, and provided a picture of the damage <br />Page 6 of 9 <br />
