<br /> <br />tervi{{e <br /> <br />'Esta6hs!iCt{ i8S? <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />1880 :Main Street, Centervi/Te, :MN 55038 <br />651-429-3232 or<FtV( 651-429-8629 <br /> <br />Res. #08- ~.3.3 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br />PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT AND CALLING FOR A <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON 2009 IMPROVEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids have been received, and costs have been determined for the 2009 Street <br />Improvement Project, more specifically described on the attached "Exhibit C," and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the contract price for the improvement is $2,844,497, and the expenses to be <br />incurred in the making of such improvement amount to $796,359 so that the total cost of <br />the improvement will be $3,640,359. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the city is hereby declared <br />to be $2,724,939 and the portion to be assessed against benefiting property is declared <br />to be $915,420. <br /> <br />2. The City Administrator, with the assistance of the consulting engineer shall forthwith <br />calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against <br />every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard <br />to cash valuation, as provided by law and in accordance with the adopted assessment <br />policy of the City, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office <br />for public inspection. <br /> <br />3. A hearing shall be held on the 7th day of January, 2009, at St. Genevieve Parish <br />Community Center, at 6:30 p.m. to pass upon the proposed assessment and at such <br />time and place all persons owning property affected by such improvement will be <br />given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. <br /> <br />4. The City Administrator is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the <br />proposed assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two <br />weeks prior to the hearing and he shall state in the notice the total cost of the <br />improvement.
