(2) at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park - Not to Exceed $1.000 <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar inquired whether there are budgeted funds would come from the <br />2009 budget. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee replied that yes, there are still Budget funds available. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Paar. seconded bv Council Member Broussard-Vickers. <br />to approve Item 3 of the Consent Ae:enda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />VI. A W ARDSIPRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Sgt. Pat Aldridge - Police Updates <br /> <br />Sgt. Aldridge appeared to give the City Council the latest police updates. Some of the <br />updates he reported were: <br /> <br />. Bank Robbery Training was conducted at Main Street Bank. Sgt. Aldridge pointed <br />out that this time of year is the most prevalent time for bank robberies. <br />. Tobacco Compliance Checks were conducted, and they all passed. <br />. A new CSO was hired. <br />. Training was conducted in liquor establishments to train employees how to <br />recognize false ID' s. <br />. The Department received new guns (AR 15's), and all officers have been trained on <br />them. <br />. Officers have been commended by school officials for their presence in the school <br />and reading to the students. <br />. During the past week, recognition was given to Police Reserves. <br />. On December, Officer B.l. Stepan will begin his first CPR Class training. <br />. Despite many traffic stops, only 24 citations were issued. Most of the stops were <br />warmngs. <br /> <br />Sgt. Aldridge reported on some of the latest City events: <br /> <br />. There was an armed robbery Halloween night, and an arrest was made. <br />. There was a school bus safety issue the beginning of November, involving a <br />suspicious vehicle that was observed by several citizens. This turned out to be <br />nothing, but Sgt. Aldridge commended the citizens for recognizing and reporting <br />possible problems. <br />. There was a residence burglary. It is suspected that the burglar knew the victim. <br />. The C-Shifters have continued monitoring Centerville. A program was started to <br />hear the concerns of the elderly at two buildings and providing visibility. <br />.
