City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />December 10, 2008 <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />approve Ordinance #22, Second Series - 2009 Fee Schedule, with the appropriate <br />changes to remain with quarterly utility billing. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />7. Ordinance #23, Second Series -Chapter 31, 32 <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that these changes would give them the ability to do <br />background checks. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Ordinance #23 Second Series -Chapter 31, 32. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />8. Ordinance #24. Second Series - Chatter 50 & 51 <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />table Ordinance #24 Second Series -Chapter 50 & 51. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />9. Ordinance #25, Second Series -Chapter 71 <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that this Ordinance is amending the penalty section, adding <br />some new penalties, and changing some penalties to misdemeanors. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, to <br />approve Ordinance #25, Second Series -Chapter 71. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />10. Ordinance #26, Second Series -Chapters 91, 92 and 94 <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that this Ordinance amends the public nuisance regulations, <br />and added controlled substances. It adds that drug paraphernalia found in cars would be <br />changed to a misdemeanor, instead of a petty misdemeanor (with presence of drug <br />residue). <br />Councilmember Lee inquired whether this also pertains to marijuana. <br />City Attorney Glaser replied that they can usually find the marijuana but, with meth, they <br />can usually find the residue only. <br />City Administrator Larson stated that, among others, this also includes weapons <br />regulations, boat launching regulations, and wording regarding promiscuous public <br />behavior. <br />Page 8 of 11 <br />
