<br />(B) Stormwater discharge prohibited It shall be unlawful for any owner, occupant or user of any <br />premises to direct into or allow any stormwater, surface water, groundwater, roof runoff, pond <br />overflow, well water or water from residential, industrial or commercial air conditioning systems to <br />drain into the sanitary sewer system of the city. <br /> <br />(C) Draintile system. A draintile, sump basket, pump, electrical receptacle and rigid pipe <br />connection to the outside shall be required for any new residential buildings constructed within the city. <br />The Building Official may determine the need for this installation when slab-on-grade construction <br />occurs. The system shall be installed as follows: <br /> <br />(1) The building shall have a draintile placed around the inside perimeter of the foundation <br />connected to a sump basket. The sump basket shall be located at least ten feet away from any inside <br />floor drain; <br /> <br />(2) A discharge pipe shall be installed to the outside wall of the building with rigid pipe <br />(plastic, copper, galvanized or black pipe), 3J4-inch inside diameter minimum, and shall be a <br />permanent installation. A permanent installation shall be one which provides for year round <br />dischar~e capability to either the outside of the dwelling. building. or structure. or is directly <br />connected to a city storm sewer. It shaH consist of a rigid dischar~e line to the outside of the exterior <br />wall of the structure. without yalYing or quick connections for altering the path of dischar~e. When not <br />connected to a city storm sewer. the outlet shaH be to the rear yard of the property. unless another location is <br />specifically authorized by the City. Connections directly to the city storm sewer shall require a permit from the <br /> <br />City.L___________________________________________________________________-- <br /> <br />(3) The electrical receptacle shall be located no greater than five feet from the sump basket... _ ~ <br /> <br />(D) Alternate materials or methods. The provision of this section are not intended to prevent the <br />use of any material or method of construction not specifically prescribed by this section; provided, any <br />alternate has been approved and its use authorized by the Building Official. The Building Official may <br />approve any alternate, provided that the proposed design is satisfactory and complies with the <br />provisions of this section and that the material, method or work offered is, for the purpose intended, at <br />least the equivalent of that prescribed in this section. The Building Official shall require that sufficient <br />evidence or proof be submitted to substantiate any claims that may be made regarding its use. The <br />details of any action granting approval of an alternate shall be recorded and entered in the files of the <br />department of the Building Official. <br /> <br />(E) Existing installations.
