<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 95-5 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT COOPERATIVE EFFORTS TO PROVIDE FOR <br />INTEGRATED RECREATION PROGRAMS BETWEEN THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />AND OTHER SURROUNDING PUBLIC AGENCIES <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />The City of Centerville has <br />provide an appropriate living <br />residents, and <br /> <br />a continuing effort to <br />environment for its <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed as a <br />civil rights law for persons with disabilities, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Americans with Disabilities Act provides <br />protection/opportunities for any individual with a <br />disability who chooses to use programs, services and <br />benefits within the City of Centerville, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The City of Centerville desires to cooperate in <br />providing integrated recreation programs and related <br />services for disabled persons including but not limited <br />to, persons who are physically disabled, hearing <br />impaired, chronically mentally ill, learning disabled <br />or mentally handicapped, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The City of Centerville believes that recreation <br />program integration for such persons can be provided on <br />a more efficient basis with programs of high quality <br />and with broader participation if joint and cooperative <br />programs are pursued with other surrounding public <br />agencies. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE, <br />MINNESOTA, that the City of Centerville supports the continued <br />movement towards the goal of providing a framework and authority <br />for joint and cooperative agreements with surrounding <br />communities, school districts and other pUblic agencies to <br />provide for integrated recreation programs, and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a similar resolution be adopted by <br />other interested agencies. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Centerville City Council this 8th day of March, <br />1995. <br /> <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />C-/~ ~ <br />Tom Wilharber, Mayor <br /> <br />/Administrator <br />
