City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 26, 2005 <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Lakso to <br />approve the purchase of Topo maps from Lino Lakes at a cost not to exceed $4,200. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Resolution #05-050 – The City Council Promoting the Use of Intrastate Mutual- <br />Aid Agreement <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson advised the Police Chief provided the information regarding the Use of <br />Intrastate Mutual-Aid Agreement. The Police Chief has been working with the County <br />on this issue. In order to qualify for the grant, all cities must approve the resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar to adopt <br />Resolution #05-050, the City Council Promoting the Use of Intrastate Mutual-Aid <br />Agreement. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Resolution #05-051 – The City Council Designation of the National Incident <br />Management System (NIMS) as the basis for All Incident Management in <br />Centerville <br /> <br />Mr. Larson advised this is another resolution to attempt to standardize a plan and have a <br />uniform system in place. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Paar to adopt <br />Resolution #05-051, the City Council Designation of the National Incident <br />Management System (NIMS) as the basis for All Incident Management in <br />Centerville. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Ordinance #6 & Ordinance #6A (Nuisance & Nuisance Abatement/Ordinance #39 <br />(Signage) – Enforcement <br /> <br />Mayor Capra advised the City of Centerville has been on the local news in regards to <br />signage within the City. She stated she has had many calls today regarding this issue. <br />There were complaints relating to some signage on private property in public view. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra advised she did speak to the sign holders about the complaints. The sign <br />holders have agreed to take down three of the four most offensive signs. She stated that <br />possibly that is an acceptable solution due to the freedom of speech. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked if the Council would like to take any further action regarding this <br />issue. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway stated he believes Mayor Capra did a good job in handling this <br />situation. He stated that in the future he would like to see situations like this handled in <br />more of a neighborly fashion. He indicated he does not think any more action is <br />necessary. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 8 <br /> <br />
