<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 26, 1992 <br />page eight <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Amend Ordinance #33-A to Lower Buildin~ Elevation in the Flood <br />Plain <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Wilharber to authorize City <br />Staff to draft an amendment to Ordinance #33-A Flood Plain to <br />lower the commercial and industrial building elevations so that <br />it complies with the State of Minnesota and the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District; the building elevation for residential <br />property shall remain at two feet above the flood plain, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Rice Creek Watershed District - Billin~ Letter <br />Council member Burgstahler presented a draft letter to the City <br />Council regarding a response to a bill to the Rice Creek <br />Watershed District for $8,060.92. A copy of this letter is on <br />file with the Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Wilharber to authorize the City <br />Staff to send the letter as drafted by Council member Burgstahler <br />to the Rice Creek Watershed District, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1993 Centennial Fire District Bud~et Amendment <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Buckbee to approve amendments to <br />the Centennial Fire District 1993 Budget as proposed by Fire <br />Chief Milo Bennett earlier in the meeting with regard to Station <br />Number Two common areas and disposal of fire vehicles with the <br />understanding that the disposal of the fire vehicles, will <br />require an adjustment in the depreciation calculation, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Resolution Suooortin~ Anoka County Designation <br />Motion by Buckbee, second by Wilharber to <br />supporting Anoka County designation of minor <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />of Minor Arterials <br />table a resolution <br />arterials, motion <br /> <br />Pondin~ Areas <br />Susan Weatherhead, 7194 Clear Ridge, appeared before the City <br />Council to note that she felt that ponding areas are "attractive <br />nuisances" and she would like to know what the City's liability <br />is with regard to such ponding areas. She noted that some other <br />cities have the ponding areas fenced with barbed wire around the <br />top of them to keep children out for safety reasons. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber suggested that this item be placed on a <br />future agenda, that the City Attorney be contacted to obtain his <br />
