City Council Meeting Minutes
July 8, 1992
page two

B. Patch and overlay at an estimated cost of $70,000.00.
C. Seal coat and patching at an estimated cost of
$52,000.00.

Council member Wilharber suggested that the City could possibly
share the cost of the improvement with Lino Lakes.

Council member Burgstahler noted the bulk of the roadway which is
broken up services the last two residents on the street. These
two residents are within the City of Lino Lakes. Considering the
financial situation of the City of Centerville at this time he
could not see justification in improving said section. He noted
that options Band/or C for a portion of the street may be
reasonable.

Council member Burgstahler appeared to concur with Council member
Wilharber in that the City of Centerville could contact the City
of Lino Lakes for input regarding the sharing of the improvement
costs, have a public hearing with the property owners and then
make decision at that time as to whether to improve the street
and if so, how the financing of the project would be allocated.

John Stewart, City Engineer, suggested that the City Council
review all streets in Centerville to consider road maintenance on
the streets which may be in need of attention and do all the
projects at the same time to possibly lower per unit costs. He
further noted that in holding a public hearing for the
improvement the City would not be able to seal coat Mound Trail
this year. It might be possible to overlay it, but that may be
tight. He noted the last 650 feet of Mound Trail is already
severely damaged. He noted that patching could be done this
fall.

Motion by Burgstahler, second by Buckbee to adopt a resolution
declaring adequacy of petition and ordering preparation
of report;
-City Staff shall order a public improvement hearing for
August 12, 1992, 7:00 p.m. at the Centerville City Hall
in response to the petition for improvement of Mound
Trail;
-the City Staff shall inform Lino Lakes of the situation and
request their response to a shared cost for their
portion of the roadway,
motion carried unanimously.

The City Staff shall coordinate a street drive around prior to
the August 12, 1992 public hearing for the City Engineer and the
Engineering liaisons.
