<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, June <br />24, 1992 at the City Hall. Mayor Buckbee called the meeting to <br />order at 7:10 p.m. Present: Dario, Pelton, Wilharber. Absent: <br />Buirgstahler. <br /> <br />KIINUTES <br /> <br />Koition by Pelton, second by Wilharber to table the approval of <br />the June 8, 1992 meeting minutes, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />~a3 - 1994 Police Contract <br />Chlief Dave VanBurkleo of the <br />De!partment appeared before the <br />p~oposed 1993-1994 Police Service <br />i <br /> <br />Circle Pines/Lexington Police <br />City Council to address the <br />Contract. <br /> <br />M~yor Buckbee requested that the contract define the scope of <br />s~rvice to the City of Centerville to be 16 hours per day as it <br />appears that has been the average number of hours per day given <br />to the City of Centerville to date. <br /> <br />i <br />Cduncil member Dario inquired as to <br />Centerville entering into a Joint Powers <br />P~nes and Lexington versus contracting. <br />i <br />Ctiief VanBurkleo advised that it is a goal to enter into a Joint <br />pqwers Agreement versus a contract situation in the future. <br /> <br />the possibility of <br />Agreement with Circle <br /> <br />Kdtion by Pelton, second by Dario to approve the 1993-1994 Police <br />Service Contract with the Circle Pines/Lexington Police <br />Department with the addition of the definition of scope of <br />service to be an average of sixteen (16) hours per day, motion <br />c~rried unanimously. <br />I <br /> <br />W~terworks Bar - ReQuest to Decrease the Cost of a Temoorary 3.2 <br />~er Permit <br />R~ch DeFoe, owner of the Waterworks Bar, was present to discuss <br />r~duced cost in Temporary 3.2 beer permit with the City Council. <br />M~. DeFoe advised that he would like a permanent 3.2 beer permit <br />for the entire baseball season in addition to a decrease in fee. <br />He noted that the his conversations with the Minnesota Liquor <br />Control Division suggested that he could obtain a permanent 3.2 <br />beer permit for the ball field area. Mr. DeFoe advised that if <br />ttie process involved an ordinance amendment he would pay for the <br />cqst of the amendment. He also advised that the current permit <br />system is too expensive and it is too much of a hassle to obtain <br />temporary 3.2 beer permits. He advised that he has not been told <br />.o~ any concerns or problems that had been associated with the <br />icurrent issues of the 3.2 beer permits. <br /> <br />Cduncil member Wilharber noted that he prefers the current system <br />of issuing temporary 3.2 beer permits as the City is able to <br />obtain more control. <br />
