City Council Meeting Minutes
May 13, 1992
Page two

Metro Recreation Programs. They advised that the summer programs
have already been prepared by the Centennial School District and
it will be Ms. Bergman's role to implement the programs. Ms.
Bergman will author a page in the next Centennial School District
Observer. Ms. Bergman will be taking many of the
responsibilities from Cathy Wyland who now works for the
Centennial School District to put together the programs. Ms.
Bergman shall work approximately twelve (12) hours per week. The
North Metro Recreation Commission will try to run fee base
programs. The Commission anticipates no increase for the 1993
budget at this time.

OLD BUSINESS

Municioal Well - Acceptance of Bids
John Stewart, City Engineer, was present to advise the City
Council of the bids obtained on April 30, 1992 for the second
municipal well. He advised that the low bidder of the base bid
for a well drilled at 200 feet appears to be E.H. Renner and
Sons, Inc. at a bid of $30,997.00. Mr. Stewart noted that the
high bid at the 200 foot depth was $44,475.00.

Mr. Stewart pointed out to the City Council that there was an add
alternate on the bids. Utilizing the add alternate, it appears
that L.T.P. Enterprises, Inc., would be a low bid. Mr. Stewart
advised that the advertisement for bids specifically states that
the acceptance of the low bid shall be based upon the base bid at
200 depth calculations.

Mr. Stewart advised that the City Council has two options at this
time. They could accept all the bids and award the base bid to
E.H. Renner and Sons, Inc., or they could reject all bids and re-
bid the project to include the add alternate. The add alternate
would be for an additional 100 feet of drilling. Mr. Stewart
advised that the City may hold the bids up to 60 days.

Motion by Buckbee, second by Wi1harber to accept all bids as
presented, and to consider award of the base bid at a future City
Council meeting, motion carried unanimously.

Centerville Elementary Parkin~/Sidewalk and Street
Reconstruction - Set Date for Public Hearing
John Stewart, City Engineer, was present to address a Feasibility
Study Report for parking lot construction and roadway
reconstruction at the Centerville Elementary School. A copy of
this Feasibility Report dated May 6, 1992 is on file with the
Clerk/Administrator.
