<br />Pursuant to due call and <br />City of Centerville held <br />April 22, 1992 at the <br />meeting to order at 7:02 <br />Pelton, Wilharber. <br /> <br />notice thereof the City Council of the <br />their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />City Hall. Mayor Buckbee called the <br />p.m. Present: Burgstahler, Dario, <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Centerville Ditch Bid Acceptance <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, was available to address the bids <br />for the Center Oaks Ditch Maintenance. Mr. Stewart noted that <br />restoration shall be completed within MNDOT standards. He <br />advised that the contractor is not responsible for the cost of <br />seed replacement if washed away. He did advise that the unit <br />price for seed replacement would hold as set within the bid. The <br />contractor shall work with the Park and Recreation Committee to <br />mark off the fields to allow for storage of fill from the creek <br />area which abuts Central Park. Mr. Stewart advised that the cost <br />difference from seed to sod is approximately $11,000.00. <br /> <br />The City Council expressed concern that some residents would sod <br />the ditch area. <br /> <br />Mr. Stewart suggested that there will be a pre-construction with <br />the Contractor at which time the City Staff would be able obtain <br />a better time period with regard to the maintenance improvement. <br />At such time a letter could be sent out to the residents. Mr. <br />Stewart suggested that residents could be allowed to sod to <br />within a certain level on the ditch area, but not on the bottom <br />of the ditch. <br /> <br />Council member <br />future dumping <br />drainage area. <br /> <br />Wilharber noted that the City will not allow the <br />of grass clippings and old sod within this <br /> <br />Motion by Pelton, second by Wilharber to accept the low bid of <br />$19,545.00 by Jim Stevens Construction as per the recommendation <br />of the City Engineer in their April 16, 1992 letter "Regarding <br />Bids for Ditch Cleaning and Construction - City of Centerville;" <br />contingent upon an agreement being reached on the procurement of <br />easements from the property owners abutting the ditch between <br />Centerville Road and west Centerville limits or until 60 days <br />after April 16, 1992, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A copy of the April 16, 1992 letter from Maier, Stewart and <br />Associates is on file with the Clerk/Administrator. <br /> <br />Centerville School Proposed Street Sidewalk Parkina Lot <br />Improvement <br />Kathy Masche, Principal of the Centerville Elementary School, was <br />present to address any questions or concerns of the City Council. <br />It appears that the Centennial School would like improvement of <br />the school parking lot, a sidewalk along Progress Road and <br />possibly improvement of Westview Street. <br />
