<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 11, 1992 <br />PAGE FIVE <br /> <br />- request a credit for reprinting the public hearing notice <br />and remailing notifications to property owners; <br />- express concern regarding the method of collection of <br />voluntary monies (it is supposed to be a free paper, <br />yet persons - mostly youths - will come to the door <br />advising that they are collecting payment for the <br />paper, not specifying that said payment is voluntary; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Canvas Votes Cast for Mayoral Seat <br />As per the request of Mike Davis, Mayoral Candidate, the City of <br />Centerville held a recount on November 10, 1992. <br /> <br />The count was: <br /> <br />Buckbee <br />Davis <br />Write-in <br />Blank <br />Challenge <br /> <br />464 <br />455 <br />7 <br />60 <br />6 <br /> <br />Total votes were 986_ <br /> <br />Mr. Davis <br />C. Buckbee <br />1992. <br /> <br />contested 6 ballots with regard to votes cast for John <br />III by the Official Election Judges on November 4, <br /> <br />On November 10, 1992, the Presiding Election Official, Greg <br />Hellings (City Attorney), determined the intent of the six votes <br />to be for John C. Buckbee III, thus were included in this final <br />count of 464 votes. <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed the recount <br />individually reviewed the contested ballots_ <br /> <br />tabulations and <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Dario to approve <br />the November 10, 1992 recount, to include the <br />ballots as recommended by the Presiding Election <br />Hellings, motion carried unanimously_ <br /> <br />the results of <br />six challenged <br />Official, Greg <br /> <br />The Clerk/Administrator resealed the challenged votes to be <br />delivered to the Anoka County Election Office. <br /> <br />Liquor License Fees <br />The City Council noted that a lot of time is spent on a service <br />costs for the liquor establishments, for example: police service, <br />citizen groups, etc. The City Council reviewed the various <br />liquor license fees of neighboring cities. Most of the cities do <br />not have variable rate. However, the City Council appeared to be <br />favorable to a variable fee rate for liquor establishments. <br />
