<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereo~, the City Council <br />o~ Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />August 22, 1984 in City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the <br />meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Present: Ayers, Baumann, <br />Zimny, Wilharber. <br /> <br />Motion by Baumann, second by Wilharber to approve the minutes <br />of the August 8, 1984 meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS - None <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS - Motion by Ayers, second by Baumann to authorize <br />the City to enter into the agreement vacating that portion o~ <br />Westview Street north of Lot 6, Block J, Centerville and north <br />o~ Clearwater Road, upon approval of the City Attorney, and <br />upon the agreement of the benefitting homeowners paying the legal <br />fees, motion carried. <br /> <br />The City will not be spreading Calcium Chloride on the roads <br />due to the high cost. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Zimny to accept the resignation of <br />City Clerk Lu Prachar after 12 years of dedicated service, with <br />reservation, motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Ayers, second by Baumann to have an Open House on <br />September 12, 1984 at 6:Jo PM - 8:00 PM at City Hall in <br />appreciation of 12 years of dedicated service, motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk will check with the insurance co. on the liability of <br />firemen with beards. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: Material Safety Data Sheet Clearinghouse not <br />needed by a City of our size. <br /> <br />Clerk will get promotional material from the Minnesota Housing <br />Finance Agency on their Home Energy Loans. <br /> <br />Ed Adams, owner of the Trio Inn, requested that he be able to <br />open his establishment at 10:00 AM on Sunday. Clerk will <br />research this and council will discuss at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Clerk will have the engineer check the road base at the Royal <br />Meadows development. <br /> <br />Police Chief Myhre and Officer Mike Jensen answered questions the <br />council had on recent burglaries and general police protection in <br />the area. A possible crime watch program will be announced in the <br />paper. If anyone is interested Tom Wilharber will work with Officer <br />Mike Jensen to set it up. . <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Baumann to pay current claims, motion <br />carried. Copy of current receipts and disbursements is attached <br />to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Zimny to adjourn meeting, motion <br />carried.
