Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held a public hearing on August 24, 1988 at the Centerville City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing was to hear all persons present regarding the proposed vacation of Westview Street. Mayor L~Allier called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.ID. Present: Fritchie, Wilharber, Burgstahler1 Neumann. A copy of a petition to vacate Westview Street is attached to and made a part of these minutes. Bill LaLonde, 1687 Westview Street1 a petitioner for the vacation, sited problems such as snowmobiles in the winter and all terrain vehicles in the summer using the unimproved section of that street as a through area. LaLonde also advised that he would reflector material, a "No Through sign, and a street light at the most Street that will not be vacated. like the City to supply Street" sign1 a "Dead End" westerly end of Westview Robert and Patricia Phillips, 7124 Main Street, were the other persons petitioning for said vacation. They were also present. It was discussed that the street is only requested to be vacated from Lot 7, Block 9 through Lot 10, Block 9. Orville Hughes, Public Works Director, advised that the vacation would not affect access to the sewer manhole and that the snow plowing ar~a would remain the same as if the area proposed for vacation is unimproved. Gene Houle, 7124 Centerville Road, spoke in favor of the vacation. Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to hearing, motion carried unanimously. Hearing p.m. close the public adjourned at 7:08 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting August 24, 1988 at the Centerville City Hall. Mayor L~Allier called the meeting to order at 7:09 p.m. Present: Fritchie, Wilharber, Burgstahler, Neumann. Motion by Burgstahler, second by Neumann to accept the minutes of the August 10, 1988 meeting with the following correction: page three, paragraphs four and five - now reads - Meeting recessed at 7:10 p.m. Meeting resumed at 7:20 p.m. amended to read Meeting recessed at 9:10 p.m. Meeting resumed at 9:20 p.m. motion carried unanimously.
