<br />CC Meeting Minutes <br />page five <br />August 24, 1988 <br /> <br />Clerk advised that Lino Lakes is willing to <br />Contract with regard to priority of calls, <br />department may be possible (idea of a police <br />looked upon favorably), Centerville could be <br />Lino Lakes meeting at which the Lino Lakes <br />budget would be discussed, and that Centerville <br />with a quarterly police financial report. <br /> <br />reword the Police <br />a liaison to the <br />commission was not <br />notified of each <br />Police Department <br />could be provided <br /> <br />Due to budgetary restraints, Clerk recommended that Centerville <br />continue to contract with the Lino Lakes Police Department for <br />1989, making the commitments for a 1990 Centerville Police <br />Department (order car, equipment, go through hiring processes, <br />etc. ) . <br /> <br />Bill LaLonde, 1687 Westveiw Street, <br />Centerville Road, spoke in favor of <br />Department. <br /> <br />and <br />a <br /> <br />Gene Houle, 7124 <br />Centerville Police <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Burgstahler to hold a special <br />meeting August 31, 1988, 7:00 p.m. at City Hall to attempt to <br />make the final decision for 1989 police protection; Clerk will <br />investigate cost and housing of the police vehicle and office <br />space for the police department; Tim Ross, originater of the 1989 <br />Centerville Police Department proposal will also be asked to <br />attend this meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to deny the Park and <br />Recreation Committee recommendation that a restroom be added to <br />the proposed transmitter building on the water tower site, to be <br />used for public purpose, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br />City Council acknowledged letter from Mike Habas, 7167 Shad <br />Avenue, which complained of the Centerville "No Parking between <br />3:00 a.m. and 7 a.m." ordinance with reference to a parking <br />ticket that he received during that time period. A copy of this <br />letter is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />City Council acknowledged August 30, 1988 meeting of Centerville <br />and Peltier Lake Associations. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to hold the second and <br />third City budget meetings September 20, 1988 and October 18, <br />1988 at 7:00 p.m. at the Centerville City Hall, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber recommended that discussion of a liaison <br />for the City Engineer be discussed at an October City Council <br />meeting. <br />
