<br />CC Meeting Minutes <br />page four <br />August 24, 1988 <br /> <br />amend to read' <br />any part or <br />streets.. ."; <br /> <br />.. . impose upon <br />on all of <br /> <br />vehicular traffic on <br />the city maintained <br /> <br />Article 3 <br />reads - "Street <br />Mill Road <br /> <br />From <br />Main Street <br /> <br />To <br />Centerville <br />Limits" <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />amend to read - <br />"Street From To <br />Mill Road Main Street Peltier Lake Drive"; <br />contingent upon attorney review, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, updated the Council on the Municipal <br />Water System. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Burgstahler to hire/contract with <br />Roger Bacon (employee of White Bear Lake and Hugo Water <br />Departments) at $15.00 per hour for maintenance of the <br />Centerville Municipal Water System until such time that a <br />Centerville employee can receive the proper training and <br />licensing to properly maintain the system; contingent upon City <br />Attorney opinion as to whether the individual should be <br />contracted with or be hired as a City employee, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to direct the Public Works <br />Director to work with the City Engineer to acquire a portable gas <br />driven pump with three inch spheres to be used in the municipal <br />sewer system; the cost of the pump will not exceed $1,000, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Orville Hughes also noted to the Council that a tree is down at <br />1850 Center Street, which has been determined not to be on City <br />property. Clerk noted that she has contacted US West Direct <br />regarding underground telephone lines that the homeowner claims <br />contributed to the falling of the tree. US West Direct will <br />investigate the matter. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Discussion of the 1989 Police proposals. Approximately 35 <br />residents expressed their opinions on the proposals in response <br />to the City newsletter. Of those responding, 10 responded that <br />they were satisfied with the Lino Lakes Police Department Service <br />and/or were not interested in a Centerville Police Department. <br />The remaining 25 residents who responded were interested in a <br />Centerville Police Department and were willing to shoulder an <br />increase in taxes to do so. <br />
