A copy of the bids are
on file with the City Clerk.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to adopt Resolution #88-46
to accept the bid from Lake Area Utility of $8,390 for the Short
Street Sewer Extension Improvement #88-1; and to direct City
Engineer to work with City Clerk and Mayor to process the notice
to proceed, contingent upon City Attorney review of the contract,
motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to
47 declaring the cost of Short Street Sewer
#88-1 to be $11,000 and ordering the
assessment roll for this improvement by
Associates, motion carried unanimously.

adopt Resolution #88-
Extension Improvement
preparation of the
Maier, Stewart and

Discussion of Clearwater Creek Crossing at Main Street, with
regard to enlargement to help eliminate some of the flood plain
areas in Centerville.

John Stewart and Brian Miller, City Engineers advised that Anoka
County may help with such a project if there would be a
substantial savings of flood loss. A rough estimate of hydraulic
investigation costs would be $14,000. City Engineers recommend
that the City not proceed with the project unless the necessary
funding for the project be absorbed by the benefiting property
owners. It was also noted that it may be possible for the City
to obtain a grant from the DNR for up to $75,000 for such a
project.

Motion by Neumann, second by Wilharber that no monies will be
expended by the City at this time toward enlargement of
Clearwater Creek under Main Street, due to the City's current
monetary commitments for other City projects; this item will be
tabled until a time when the benefiting property owners would
petition the City for enlargement of Clearwater Creek under Main
Street and agree to cover all costs of such a project, motion
carried unanimously.
