<br />~7~/;) -f: 6/ <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice ther~ ofJ th~ C~nt~rvill~ City <br />Council held a special meeting with the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission to discuss R-2A zoning. Mayor L~Allier called the <br />meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. Present: Wilharber, Fritchie, <br />Neumann, Tourville, Vermeulen, Lindgren, Welk. Absent: <br />Burgstahler, Drilling. <br /> <br />Also present were: John Stewart, City Engineer; Alan Brixius and <br />Andrew Mack, Planning Consultants; Gerry Rehbein, Developer. <br /> <br />Stewart encouraged Council to encourage development to maximize <br />utilization of municipal water. <br /> <br />Mayor L~Allier felt 11,500 sq. ft. was a good compromise between <br />the proposed 11,000 sq. ft. and 12,000 sq. ft. He expressed <br />concern of looking at what want now and in the future. <br /> <br />Council member Neumann and Commission member Vermeulen expressed <br />receptiveness toward 11,500 sq. ft. <br /> <br />Commission Chairperson Tourville noted that 80' X 150' lots were <br />what he originally had in mind when the R-2A district was formed, <br />but the City bought off at 10,000. He would go with the Planner <br />recommendation, but would want 80' frontage with a deeper lot. <br /> <br />Commission member Lindgren preferred 80' X 125' lots. <br /> <br />Commission member Welk preferred 15,000 sq. ft. lots, narrower <br />yet deeper (150' preferred). She felt that any increase in lot <br />size would be a benefit to the City. <br /> <br />Council member Fritchie was in <br />recommendation of 11,500 sq. ft., but <br />two family dwellings in that district. <br /> <br />favor of the Planner <br />did not like the idea of <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber was in favor of the Planner <br />recommendation of 11,500 sq. ft., and was in favor of two family <br />dwellings in the R-2A district as set up in City Ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to direct the City Clerk to <br />set up a public hearing as soon as feasible to consider an <br />increase in lot size for the R-2A district at 11,500 sq. ft. and <br />a possible 85' lot width, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Welk, second by Fritchie to adjourn the meeting, motion <br />carried unanimously.
