<br />Meeting Minutes <br />Page Six <br />May 25, 1988 <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Wilharber to direct the City <br />Engineers to pursue a change order for the electrical connections <br />under the present contract for the control building and <br />electrical service supplied with Centerville Heights; once the <br />bids are received for the well pump and the controls, the City <br /> <br />Engineers are given direction to proceed with the previous <br />contract as is (the original estimate has been exceeded by <br />approximately $600), motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to direct the Clerk to <br />inform interested parties that the City of Centerville will be <br />reviewing Police Protection Contracts proposals for the City of <br />Centerville for the 1989 year; a Special meetings will be held in <br />July to review/interview for the submitted proposals, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council member Neumann advised that he has spoken to Sonny <br />DaBruzzi of Ro-So Contracting and he has agreed to donate a <br />temporary warming house for use in Central Park with regard to <br />the hockey rink and that Ro-So Contracting has also volunteered <br />to deliver the building to the park site. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to request that a <br />representative of the Park and Recreation Committee appear before <br />the City Council to discuss the feasibility of removal and <br />current safety of the old hockey rink, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie that per the recommendation <br />of the City Engineer, the $879,000 letter of credit submitted by <br />Harstad Companies on November 1, 1987, will be reduced by <br />$300,000 contingent upon submittal of an additional $10,000 <br />escrow fee from Harstad Companies regarding City Engineering <br />fees, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br />Frank Zimny, 7252 LaValle Drive, and Bob Lindgren, 7242 LaValle <br />Drive, appeared before the City Council to express concerns about <br />ball tournaments being held at the Waterworks ballfield. Clerk <br />advised that there are resolutions and restrictions on the ball <br />tournaments at the Waterworks ballfield if 3-2 Permits are issued <br />by the City. Clerk also noted that she has spoken to <br />representatives of the Waterworks Bar and they have advised that: <br />-satellites will be provided, <br />-no unauthorized 3-2 beer will be consumed, <br />-there shall be no unauthorized parking on LaValle Drive. <br />Clerk questioned whether the City can legally place further <br />restrictions on this property. <br />
