<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held a public hearing on November 9, 1988 at <br />City Hall. The purpose of the hearing was to hear all persons <br />regarding the municipal water assessment for the Hardwood Ponds <br />Development. Mayor L~Allier called the meeting to order at 6:50 <br />p.m. Present: Fritchie, Wilharber, Neumann. Absent: <br />Burgstahler. <br /> <br />No audience members were present. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />by Fritchie to adjourn the hearing, <br />Hearing was adjourned at 6:51 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on November 9, <br />1988 at City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the meeting to order at <br />7:04 p.m. Present: Fritchie, Wilharber, Burgstahler, Neumann. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Wilharber to accept the minutes of <br />the October 26, 1988 meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br />Joe Pelton, Centerville Police Liaison Chairperson was present to <br />update the Council on the Liaison Group. Pelton presented a <br />letter to the Council asking their approval for distribution to <br />residents. Pelton advised that the Liaison Group members have <br />divided the City into three parts and will be walking door to <br />door to advocate "Crime Watch" and try to determine resident <br />concerns. <br />A copy of the letter is on file with the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Wilharber to authorize <br />distribution of the letter presented by Joe Pelton, Centerville <br />Police Liaison Chairperson, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Pelton also suggested that crime tips be put in the City <br />newsletter. <br /> <br />Pelton inquired as to the reasons why Centerville has a year <br />round parking restriction. City Council listed several reasons: <br />-to facilitate snow plowing in the winter, <br />-to better enable the police to spot problems, <br />-to discourage parking of junk cars on the street, <br />-and due to the narrowness of many of the streets within the <br />City, no parking better enables emergency vehicles to <br />respond. <br /> <br />Pelton also inquired as to whether the City makes allowances for <br />new construction areas in which driveways are not yet <br />constructed.
