CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING/PUBLIC HEARING <br />January 21, 2009 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held a public hearing on January <br />21, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Genevieve Parish Community Center, 6995 Centerville Road. The <br />purpose of the hearing was to hear objections to and to consider adopting an assessment roll for <br />the 2009 Street Improvement Project. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Mary Capra <br />Council Member Tom Lee <br />Council Member Jeff Paar <br />Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher ~ ~j~ ~ <br />Council Member Linda Broussard-Vickers O \ V / <br />0 O ~' <br />ABSENT: None ~ ~ <br />STAFF: City Administrator Dallas Larson <br />City Engineer Mark Statz <br />City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br />L CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Capra called the public hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />IL PUBLIC HEARING <br />Presentation of 2009 Street Project <br />Mayor Capra explained the purpose of the meeting tonight is to hear testimony on the <br />special assessment for the 2009 Street Improvement Project. She stated if residents have <br />documentation they would like to submit, that documentation including written <br />objections, they will be accepted into the official record until the close of the meeting. <br />City Administrator Larson indicated notices were mailed to all property owners on <br />January 5, 2009, and the notice was published in the official paper on January 6, 2009, as <br />required by Minnesota statutes Chapter 429. He added individual notices included the <br />proposed assessment. <br />City Attorney Glaser reviewed the assessment process and explained what is required to <br />object to special assessments and further to appeal to district court if unsatisfied with the <br />decision of the Council. He also noted that a handout with the process described was on <br />the table at the entrance to the room. <br />
