<br />/ <br />/ <br /> <br />Page two - City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 10, 1985 <br /> <br />Motion by Zimny, second by Robischon authorizing the City of <br />Centerville in writin~ request the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District review the current culvert situation under Peltier <br />Lake Drive with the City Engineen and further derive an <br />accurate estimate of the costs in conjunction with revising <br />the. current culvert situation by lour April 24, 1985 meeting, <br />motlCJl carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Ayers, second by Wilharber to allow the City to <br />pursue the vacation of 8th street based upon the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission's recommendation, and contingent <br />upon the landowners paying the costs involved, motion carried. <br /> <br />Clerk will send a letter to the adjacent property owners <br />referencing a May 2, 1985 public hearing to discuss the <br />possibility of vacating 8th street contingent upon the <br />benefitting property owners ability to get a $75.00 deposit <br />per owner to the clerk by Tuesday ,April 1,6, 1985. Mr. <br />Almendinger will not be required to pay as he is not a <br />benefitting property owner. <br /> <br />Discussion on Royal Meadows development with Gunnar Pettersen, <br />City Building Inspector. The manufactured units themselves <br />are inspected by the State Buiiding Code Division. The City <br />inspects the foundations, setbacks etc. "Second" concrete <br />blocks have been allowed to be used in the foundations <br />below grade. Gunnar will check to be sure they were only <br />used below grade, and will no longer allow their use in <br />any part of the foundations built in the future. <br /> <br />Clerk will send Mr. Dykema, Twin Lakes Pavillion, a letter <br />reminding him of the meeting on April 24, 1985 and requesting <br />he give us a copy of his proposal for softball tournaments <br />in advance of the meeting to be included in the agenda packets. <br /> <br />Clerk will submit application for the 1985 Summer Youth <br />Program. The City will be requesting two people. One for <br />the office and one for maintenance. <br /> <br />Motion by Robischon, second by Wilharber to pay bill from <br />Milner W. Carley & Associates for $877.00, motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Ayers sent the message back to Mr. Carley of his <br />concern regarding the high cost of evaluation, and the fact <br />that the engineering solutions are always on the high end <br />monetarily. <br /> <br />Road Committee update f~om Art Mohler. Des Englund will <br />be estimating the amount of fill and asphalt needed to <br />repair roads. Art and Mike Ayers will get a letter format <br />together to send to contractors for bids.
