Wetland K -
Alternative 1 - This alternative moves the crossing of Clearwater Creek further
west to avoid wetland K. However this alternative requires the removal of
more mature trees along the creek and brings the trail too close to neighboring
homes creating a privacy issue.

Alternative 2 - Trail impacts wetland K. Trail alignment is adjusted to provide
minimal impact to wetlands.

MINIMIZATION MEASURES
All trail side slopes have been reduced from 1:4 or greater to 1:3 slopes in wetland
areas in order to reduce fill impacts to wetlands.

WETLAND IMPACTS

III WETLAND IMPACTS (Preferred Alternative) II
Anticipated Encroachment per Type of Wetland, acres
1 1L 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
ID#A
ID # B 0.02 0.02
ID#C
ID # D 0.08 0.08
ID# E 0.04 0.04
ID # F 0.06 0.06
ID#G 0.08 0.08 0.16
ID#H
ID# I
ID# J
ID # K 0.01 0.01
Total 0.01 0.20 0.16 0.37

COMPENSATION (REPLACEMENT IENHANCEMENTS)

Wetland impacts will be mitigated by purchasing wetland bank credits from the State
Wetland Bank.

CONCLUSION

Based upon the above factors and considerations, it is determined that there is no
practicable alternative to the proposed construction in the identified wetlands, and

SP 02-090-01
Wetland Assessment
March 2009
