Y ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />For April 8, 2009 City Coundl Meeting <br /> <br />'L't<lI~iAicd IS'; <br /> <br />Italics = New information. <br />Normal = No change from last report. <br /> <br />1. 21st Avenue/Backage Road (000616-05143-0). The project is complete and final payment has <br />been made. The RCWD is requiring some additional restoration work before the Contractor is given <br />back their surety. The work will be completed in the Spring of 2009 when the ground is workable. <br /> <br />This meeting's agenda calls for the certfflcation of the assessment roll for the project. <br /> <br />2. Old Mill Road Improvements (000616-06147-0). We are in the process of obtaining lien waivers <br />and lC-134's. Once all documents are received we will recommend Project Oose Out and Acceptance. <br />The Contractor has contacted the City of Centerville to see If a joint check can be prepared for Final <br />Payment because the subcontractors will not release their lien waivers until they are paid for the work <br />they completed. <br /> <br />3. Clearwater Creek Estates (Hanzal Property) (000616-06154-0). Reseeding of the corrected <br />mitigation area has been completed. A skimmer structure Is to be placed at the pond outlet per RCWD <br />requirements. Once the seeding is established and the skimmer structure is installed, we can finalize <br />the project and ask RCWD to release their permit surety. <br /> <br />4. Hidden Spring Park (000616-07155-0). Final Payment has been made to the Contractor. The <br />only items remaining are the replacement of the glider bench slats and the monitoring of the plantings <br />in the rain garden and upper shoreline area next spring. <br /> <br />5. COmprehensive Plan (000616-07157-0). Met Council's Community Development Committee will <br />review the plan on ApIi12ff'. If acceptable, they will recommend approval by the full Council on May <br />1:1". We do not anticipate any issues with approval. If all goes as planned, the dty can schedule its <br />final hearing and then adopt the plan. <br /> <br />Moving folWard, next steps include revisions to ordinances as required by the plan as well as other <br />implementation items. <br /> <br />6. CSAH 14 Construction Services (000616-07159-0). The County and Contractor are holding a <br />pre-construction meeting this week. They plan to start amstruction in the coming weeks". The aty's <br />public works staff will be handling the remaining project inspection work with the exception of issues <br />related to the e/ectriCi11 system for the lighting. We will be available to assist aty personnel as needed <br />at our normal hourly rates. <br /> <br />7. Downtown Redevelopment COmprehensive Infrastructure Plan (000616-07161-0). Pro- <br />Sourre Technologies has completed their limited Site Investigation Report on the contaminated soils In <br />the downtown area. Staff will be briefed on this report next week. <br /> <br />8. Creative Kids Day Care Site (000616-07164-0). The Contractor is still working on some drain tile <br />items that are being required by the RCWD that they have to correct. <br /> <br />9. TE Grant Trail Project (000616-08165-0). The Project Memorandum (PM), an environmental <br />document, as well as a draft set of plans have been submitted to MNDOT for their review. This <br />positions us well as a ''shovel readY' project. Met Coundl and MNDOT will be deciding on the <br />Transportation Enhancement projects to be funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment (ARRA) <br />money soon. If we are on the list of projects to be funded, we lXJuld begin IXJnstruction in mid-summer <br />alter easements are acquired.
