<br />Page two - City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 24, 1986 <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie to instruct the engineers to go ahead <br />with the survey of the roads. Motion died for lack of a <br />second. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Zimny to table a decision <br />to move forward on the roads until the city's fiscal agent <br />has given his opinion regarding the homestead tax advantage <br />of having an ad valorem tax versus assessment; and to allow <br />time to receive petitions from residents of the proposed <br />reconstructed streets to make known whether or not they <br />are in favor of proceeding, Wilharber - aye, Zimny - aye, <br />Robischon - aye, L'Allier - aye, Fritchie - nay, motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Robischon to adjourn for five <br />minutes, motion carried unanimously. Meeting recessed at <br />8:45 P.M. <br /> <br />Meeting was reconvened by Mayor L'Allier at 8:50 P.M. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Appearance of Norm Fritchie, Centervlle's Fire Commission <br />Representative. Discussion of Fire Department and City <br />responsibilities regarding building use. Councilman Wilharber <br />recapped the council's decision to allow rink attendants <br />to use water facilities, and touched on the fire department <br />parking signs on side of building. Councilmember Fritchie <br />commented there was no building use problem. Parking is <br />a problem both the City and Fire Department need to work on <br />as best they can. Mayor L'Allier expressed his feeling <br />the City and Fire Department work well together and he <br />hopes to continue to do so. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Committee will consider items J & 4 of <br />Possibilities for Rink Flooding Switches at next meeting <br />and make recommendation to council. Copy of list is <br />attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Appearance of Leonard and Mary Ayde, Lake Sanitation. The <br />Council requested they be in attendance to discuss complaints <br />the City is receiving from the residents. Complaints are: <br />late pickup, spilling pickup, extra charges for some items. <br /> <br />Members of the audience expressed their opinions on this <br />matter: Dan Tourville, 6994 Centerville Road <br />Mary Jane Lang, 1559 Pe~tier Lake Drive <br /> <br />The Aydes will be following up on these complaints with <br />their employees. <br /> <br />Motion by Zimny, second by Robischon to approve a $500.00 <br />contribution from the City of Centerville to the Community <br />Education Program for calendar year 1987, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
